1. Acceptance. By installing or using the SideReacts extension or website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use SideReacts.
2. The service
SideReacts is a free browser extension that adds a reaction and discussion panel alongside videos on supported third-party platforms (currently YouTube and Netflix). Each video has its own discussion thread. SideReacts is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those platforms.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use SideReacts. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
4. Accounts
You can browse reactions without an account. To post, vote, or reply, you sign in with Google. When you create an account you receive a randomly generated anonymous username and avatar. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account. Don't impersonate others or attempt to access another user's account.
5. Acceptable use
To keep SideReacts safe and useful for everyone, you agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that promotes harm.
- Post external links, embeds, or attempt to bypass our link restrictions.
- Spam, flood, or post automated or repetitive content.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or that infringes someone's intellectual property or privacy.
- Harass, dox, or attempt to reveal the real identity of other users.
- Disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant SideReacts a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display that content within the service for the purpose of operating it. You're responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to post it.
7. Moderation
We may review, remove, or hide content, and suspend or ban accounts, that violate these terms or that we reasonably consider harmful — with or without notice. Uploaded images may be checked automatically for harmful content. You can report any post or reply from within the panel, and we may act on those reports.
8. Third-party platforms & services
SideReacts works on top of third-party platforms and uses third-party services (such as Google sign-in and GIPHY for GIFs). Your use of those platforms and services is subject to their own terms. We aren't responsible for third-party content, including GIFs surfaced through search, or for changes those platforms make that affect SideReacts.
9. Availability & changes
SideReacts is provided free of charge and may change over time. We may add, modify, or discontinue features, supported platforms, or the service as a whole at any time. We may also update these terms; when we make material changes we'll update the date above, and continued use means you accept the revised terms.
10. Disclaimers
SideReacts is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content posted by other users will be accurate or appropriate. You use SideReacts at your own discretion and risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SideReacts and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Because SideReacts is provided free of charge, our total liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.
12. Termination
You may stop using SideReacts and uninstall the extension at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that harms others or the service. To request deletion of your account, email [email protected].
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SideReacts operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
